Dr June Perkins is a storyteller and poet in the mediums of blogging, video, digital art photography, print and song writing.
She has been included in two books about cyclone recovery True Spirit of Cyclone Yasi and Cyclone Yasi Our Stories, and is currently working on an ebook series drawing on her cyclone recovery experiences which she plans to also print and produce as a dvd.
She is a devoted poet, who began her poetry trek at the Tasmanian poetry festival at the age of fifteen and this journey continues. This year Ilura Press will feature her poetry for the second time in Etchings -in its upcoming issue dedicated to the Feminine.
Dr Perkins is committed to writing and video documenting regional country stories from people and organisations who would otherwise be little represented in the mainstream media or who may not realise the power of their own stories.

She is member of Book Creator’s Circle and a guest blogger for ABC Open.
